HAPPY HALLOWEEN!

According to the US Census Bureau, Americans consume more than 7 billion pounds of candy per year. To no surprise a majority of this candy is sold and consumed on Halloween - about 600 million pounds, with about 90 million purchased during Halloween week alone. Scary right? While we all wish we could cast a spell to make the calories and teaspoons of sugar in these sweet treats disappear, eating only 6 small fun-sized pieces of candy every day for one week can add an extra 3,500 calories (1 lb.) and increase one’s risk for cavities. Don’t let these spooky statistics take away from a wicked good time. Below are a few tips to help avoid Halloween’s treats from inflicting bad luck all year long.
